Recently I was awarded an Emerging Artist Fellowship with the Tamarack Foundation for the Arts of West Virginia. For the next six months I’ll be traveling the state and expanding my creative network alongside my fellow cohorts. A final show is set for mid-June 2020.
Being drawn to creative endeavors for as long as I can remember, I attended college at Tyler School of Art, Temple University, graduating with a BFA in painting and drawing. Later on, after a move to Pittsburgh, while pregnant with my first baby, I had the opportunity to participate in my first residency at the Brewhouse, an artist live/work/exhibit space on Pittsburgh’s South Side. It was a fantastic experience that even today I still continue to draw from.
When I am not in the studio or challenging my creative side, I am a stay-at-home mom attempting to stay present in the fleeting moments of life with my young family. My work is mostly acrylics and graphite and is either from my imagination or from photos I've taken. When life allows, I participate in juried exhibitions and other types of shows, locally and beyond.
I currently reside in Weirton, West Virginia, with my three actively curious kids, grumpy older dog and kindred-creative-soul husband.
